Michael Sandler is a former speed skater and professional level cyclist who has had multiple, serious accidents. The last one almost killed him.
While stuck in a freezing creek bed, bleeding out internally, he had stopped breathing and he was fighting for his life. When medics arrived, he didn’t have any blood pressure and it took two flight for life helicopters to save him.
He now has two titanium hips, two titanium femurs, he’s had 10 knee operations, and he has a hole where his ACL used to be.
Michael has been told on more than one occasion that he might never walk well again, let alone run.
Despite all this, Michael is a successful running coach and one of the pioneers in the barefoot running movement.
He’s also an entrepreneur and the host of the Inspire Nation Podcast which is often ranked in the top 10 on iTunes.
Michael is a long-time practitioner and teacher of mindfulness who is most well-known for teaching mindful running.
In this episode you’ll hear more about Michael’s journey, and you’ll learn:
- How mindfulness can dramatically improve your personal and professional relationships
- How replacing striving with kindness can actually increase productivity (and happiness)
- How Michael conquered ADHD and dramatically increased his self-confidence with mindfulness
